(SNews) – Republican 2024 candidate Nikki Haley claimed during a new interview with Tucker Carlson that “climate change is real.”
Haley made the comments during the FAMILY Leadership Summit on Friday.
Carlson pressed Haley about climate change and other issues such as the 2020 presidential election.
Haley indicated that she believes there were “irregularities” during the 2020 presidential election.
However, she asserted that she does not believe the issues altered the results of the election.
Haley argues that Democrat President Joe Biden won the election fairly.
Nevertheless, she also said that election integrity is an issue that needs to be addressed.
Carlson then asked Haley if she believes climate change is caused by human actions.
She responded by saying that she believes “climate change is real.”
Surprised by the comment, Carlson pressed the question again, but Haley indicated she was not certain.
“Honestly, I don’t know how much is being changed or not, as much as I know that putting electric vehicles on the road is not the answer to what you’re doing,” she said.
She also said the U.S. should be energy independent.
Moving on to the economy, Haley said she would tackle radical government spending.
Haley indicated that as president, she would veto any spending measure that does not return to pre-Covid levels of spending.
During a portion of President Donald Trump’s White House tenure, Haley previously served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
Prior to that, she had served as governor of South Carolina.
Polls indicate that President Donald Trump has a massive lead over the rest of the GOP presidential primary field.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is trailing in a distant second place as his campaign has failed to take off.
Trump was not one of the candidates who participated in the forum on Friday.
Tucker Carlson interviewed Haley and multiple other GOP presidential primary candidates during the Friday summit.
As Slay News reported earlier, Carlson grilled former Vice President Mike Pence over his Neocon talking points about Ukraine.
Carlson noted that the quality of life in cities across America is shriveling while U.S. taxpayer fund an endless foreign war.
