SHOCK: Black Hawk Military Helicopter CRASHES Near Major Highway

(SNews) – A military helicopter crashed Wednesday near Highway 53 near Huntsville, Alabama leaving no survivors authorities said. The helicopter belonged to the Tennessee National Guard, according to a U.S. official.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred at 3 p.m. near the intersection of Burwell Road and Highway 53.

“A UH-60 Helicopter crashed on Alabama 53 near the intersection of Burrell Road in Madison County. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division in-conjunction with deputies from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office are assisting with securing the scene,” ALEA said in a statement.

“We anticipate evening traffic to experience heavy delays in this area throughout the evening,” the sheriff’s office said.

“We knew there could not be anybody surviving that,” she said so she offered a prayer for anyone on board.

Redstone Arsenal told ABC: “Redstone Arsenal leaders are aware of reports of a helicopter incident near Highway 53 in Huntsville.

“First responders are on scene, and Redstone Arsenal is in full support of local authorities in their active investigation.

“Initial investigations have not determined that the incident is connected to Redstone Arsenal assets, and we will continue to support community authorities as the situation develops.”
