(SNews) – Florida governor Ron DeSantis set White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre straight after she ripped him for rejecting an advanced placement course on black history. She said:
“If you think about the study of Black Americans, that is what he wants to block. And again, these types of actions aren’t new, they are not new from what we’re seeing, especially from Florida, sadly.
“And let’s not forget, they didn’t block AP European history, they didn’t block music history or art history, but the state chooses to block a course that is meant for high-achieving high school students to learn about their history of arts and culture,”
DeSantis said: “Our state education standards not only don’t prevent but they require the teaching of black history. All the important things. That’s part of our core curriculum.”

DeSantis then detailed how the new AP course, which is not widely used in America, not just Florida, is pushing indoctrination not education. He said:
“It’s not fair that to say that somehow abolishing prisons is somehow linked to black experience, that’s what black people want.
“I don’t think that’s true at all. I think they want law and order, just like everyone else wants law and order.”
“When you try to use black history to shoehorn in queer theory, you are clearly trying to use that for political purposes.”
DeSantis’s press secretary Bryan Griffin said:
“@PressSec is demonstrably incorrect. Again.”
“The study of African American history is not only permitted in FL but required by law.
“In fact, the teaching of African American History has been expanded in Florida since @GovRonDeSantis took office.”
Manny Diaz Jr., Florida’s Commissioner of Education, said:
“Despite the lies from the Biden White House, Florida rejected an AP course filled with Critical Race Theory and other obvious violations of Florida law.
“We proudly require the teaching of African American history. We do not accept woke indoctrination masquerading as education.”
