Breaking: Barron Trump Makes Political Debut

According to The Hill, Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Trump, has recently been chosen as one of the 41 at-large GOP delegates from Florida for the upcoming Republican National Convention. This significant appointment marks his official foray into the realm of politics at the age of 18. The convention, scheduled for July, is expected to serve as the platform for formally nominating his father as the Republican presidential candidate for the November election, where he will face off against President Joe Biden.

The Hill added: “Trump, who turned 18 earlier this year, joins three of the former president’s other children — Eric, Tiffany and Donald Trump Jr. — who were also selected as delegates. NBC News first reported Barron Trump’s selection as a delegate on Wednesday.”

“We are fortunate to have a great group of grassroots leaders, elected officials, and members of the Trump family working together as part of the Florida delegation to the 2024 Republican National Convention,” Power said in an emailed statement to the AP.

Barron Trump, who was 10 years old when Donald Trump was elected president in 2016, maintained a low profile throughout the four-year term. Recently, Barron’s name resurfaced in public discussions when a New York judge overseeing the former president’s hush money criminal trial had to decide whether Donald Trump could be excused to attend Barron’s graduation on May 17. Judge Juan Merchan eventually granted permission for the former president to attend the event. The Republican National Convention is scheduled to take place from July 15-18 in Milwaukee.

In the meantime, former first lady Melania Trump made headlines last month by hosting a fundraising event for her husband’s campaign at their Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. Photos shared online by Breitbart News captured various moments during the event with the Log Cabin Republicans, marking Melania’s first fundraiser of the cycle. The images included her posing with group leaders Ric Grenell, Bill White, and Bryan Eure. During the event, Grenell, who previously served as the Director of National Intelligence in Trump’s administration and was the first openly gay U.S. cabinet official, expressed confidence that Trump would secure the votes of gay voters in the 2024 election.

“Donald Trump deserves our vote,” Grenell said in quotes provided to Breitbart News. “He is the best candidate for our safety, security, and prosperity. He sees you as 100 percent equal.”

During the event, Grenell made a forecast that Trump, aided by his wife, is expected to secure a minimum of 50 percent of the LGBTQ vote in 2024. Eure, a notable member of the Log Cabin Republicans and senior vice president at Willis Towers Watson, reiterated this sentiment, emphasizing that LGBTQ voters are progressively aligning with larger demographics, prioritizing concerns such as the economy and public safety.

“We have seen four years of President Trump and almost four years of President Biden. No person with common sense, regardless of their sexual orientation, can honestly say they’re better off now, under Biden, than they were with President Trump,” Eure said, per Breitbart. “We are so blessed to have such a gorgeous and generous first lady stand by our side.”
