Dr. Rand Paul performed the Heimlich maneuver to save the life of Sen. Joni Ernst at a Senate luncheon today after reports that she was choking on food, with pork chops reportedly on the menu.
“Can’t help but choke on the woke policies Dems are forcing down our throats,” she wrote on Twitter. “Thanks, Dr. Paul.”
The Hill reports:
“Ernst hosted the Thursday luncheon, which is provided weekly by a member and frequently features their home state’s delicacies. Her fellow Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley (R) posted about the meal shortly beforehand, which was headlined by pork chops from the Hawkeye State. ”
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), known for his frequent disagreements with Paul on foreign policy matters, humorously remarked to The Washington Post afterward, saying, “God bless Rand Paul.”
“I never thought I’d say that,” he added.
